The rich tropical aromas of the Yucatan Peninsula inspired Nicolas Malleville to create Coqui Coqui. Based in the Spanish colonial town of Valladolid, Mexico, the perfumery draws upon the traditions and storied history of the region—from Mayan natives to Franciscan monks to modern white-sand beaches—to develop original scents such as Coco Coco. “My perfumes are simple, naïve, stripped back, so that my children, my grandfather, a Mayan, or a Parisian can wear them,” says Malleville. This unisex eau de parfum evokes the cool and milky essence of coconuts: soft and sensual, with a subtle bitter green edge.
